Overview of Department 
The Medical Physics Department provides scientific and technical expertise to ensure the safe, effective, and optimal use of radiation and medical imaging technologies. The department supports clinical services through quality assurance and quality control, radiation protection, patient dose optimization, equipment performance evaluation, regulatory compliance, research, and education, with the ultimate goal of improving patient care and safety. 

Name & Overview of Units 

1. Diagnostic Radiology Physics Unit 
The Diagnostic Radiology Physics Unit ensures the safe and effective operation of diagnostic imaging equipment through quality assurance and quality control programmes. The unit oversees performance evaluation, acceptance testing, optimization of imaging protocols, and continuous improvement of imaging services involving modalities such as CT, MRI, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and angiography. 

2. Radiation Safety Unit 
The Radiation Safety Unit ensures compliance with radiation protection standards and promotes a safe working environment for patients, staff, and the public. The unit is responsible for radiation monitoring, safety audits, regulatory compliance, staff safety, and patient dose management. 

3. Research & Training Unit 
The Research & Training Unit supports clinical research, professional development, education, and training of medical physics students, interns, and healthcare professionals.
