DENTAL SURGERY ASSISTANT
(JOB REF: DSA/05.0724)
 
Main Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Clean and maintain the orderly arrangement of the dental clinic.
  • Prepare equipment, instruments, and dental materials for surgery/treatment.
  • Assist the dentist during procedures.
  • Reassure and prepare patients/clients in readiness for the surgery/treatment.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and observe them before and after treatment.
  • Undertake proper sterilization of instruments and equipment.
  • Dispatch prosthetics work to the laboratory.
  • Provide dental health education to clients.
  • Assist in oral health outreach programs.
  • Take dental radiography, develop, mount, and store.
  • Schedule appointments for patients and record dental procedures performed.
  • Perform any other official duty that may be assigned. 

 Educational Qualification and Experience:
  •  Post SSCE Certificate in Dental Clinic Assistant from a recognized health institution.
  • Must be registered with AHPC.
