OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT
The Speech and Language Therapy Clinic at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation services for individuals experiencing communication, speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
Our speech and language therapists work with children, adults, and older adults to improve communication abilities, promote safe swallowing, and enhance participation in everyday activities. We provide individualized, evidence-based interventions that address each patient's unique communication and rehabilitation needs.
Working closely with physicians, neurologists, paediatricians, ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialists, psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals, we develop holistic treatment plans that support recovery and improve overall quality of life.
Whether helping a child develop communication skills, supporting stroke recovery, managing voice disorders, or assisting patients with swallowing difficulties, our team is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.
