Paediatric Surgery

The Paediatric Surgery Department at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) provides specialized surgical care for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents with congenital, developmental, traumatic, and acquired surgical conditions. The department is dedicated to delivering safe, comprehensive, and child-centred surgical services while considering the unique medical, physical, and emotional needs of young patients.

The department provides both elective and emergency surgical care through a multidisciplinary approach involving paediatric surgeons, anaesthetists, paediatricians, nurses, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals. By combining advanced surgical techniques with specialized paediatric care, the department aims to improve outcomes, support recovery, and enhance the quality of life of children requiring surgical intervention.
