Paediatric (Allergy & Asthma)

The Paediatric – Allergy & Asthma Department at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) provides specialized care for infants, children, and adolescents with allergic conditions, asthma, and related immune system disorders. The department focuses on accurate diagnosis, effective management, and long-term control of allergic and respiratory conditions to improve children’s health, comfort, and quality of life.

The department provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for children with conditions such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema, food allergies, and other allergic disorders. Through a multidisciplinary approach involving paediatric specialists, nurses, respiratory care professionals, and other healthcare providers, the department supports early diagnosis, personalized treatment plans, patient education, and preventive strategies to help children and families effectively manage allergic and respiratory conditions.
