OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT
The Nephrology/Renal Dialysis Department at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) provides specialized care for patients with kidney-related conditions, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of kidney diseases. The department is dedicated to preserving kidney function, managing complications of kidney disorders, and providing advanced renal replacement therapies for patients with kidney failure.
The department provides comprehensive nephrology services through a multidisciplinary team approach involving nephrologists, dialysis nurses, nutritionists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. With access to modern renal care facilities, the department offers renal dialysis services and supports patients with acute and chronic kidney conditions while ensuring safe, quality, and patient-centred care.
