Gastroenterology

The Gastroenterology Department at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) provides specialized care for diseases and disorders affecting the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and biliary system. The department offers comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of digestive health conditions using advanced diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.

Through a multidisciplinary team of gastroenterologists, nurses, endoscopy specialists, and other healthcare professionals, the department provides patient-centred care for both common and complex gastrointestinal conditions. The department works closely with other specialties within UGMC to ensure coordinated management of patients requiring medical, surgical, or supportive care for digestive system disorders.
