The UGMC Management

Mrs. Barbara Gyamfi is the Head of Client Services and Public Relations at the University of Ghana Medical Centre.

 

Education

She holds two first degrees (BA Hons in Sociology and Political Science from the  University of Ghana and a  law degree from  MountCrest University  College. She also holds two master's degrees (Communication Studies and a second master's in Law both from the University of Ghana ) as well as a higher diploma in the French language.

  

Work Experience

She commenced her communication career at Stratcomm Africa and has over 15 years of experience in amplifying the role of Communications/ PR in Ghana's private educational and health sectors. Mrs. Owusu- Hemeng has also served as a rapporteur on a number of UN and other international conferences.

 She was the Director of Corporate Communications at the  African University  College of Communications from 2008 - 2016. In 2018, she joined the West Africa AIDS Foundation as the Communications and Learning Manager before joining UGMC as the Head of Client Services and PR in 2019.

Professional interests

She is an accredited member of the Institute of Professional Studies, Ghana, and a member of the West Africa Association of Customer Service Professionals.

Her main interest is the building and nurturing of lasting and mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their stakeholders in line with their vision, mission, and values.

Skills

Excellent organizational skills,  conflict management,   influencing skills, and is results-driven.

Language skills

Proficient in English and Twi and Fante. Above average in French and average in Ga.
