Mr. George Nunoo is a distinguished Ghanaian radiographer and healthcare professional who currently serves as the Director of Allied Health at the University of Ghana Medical Centre Ltd. (UGMC). He is the immediate past Head of the Radiography & Sonography at UGMC. He rose through the ranks of the radiography profession and held the rank of Deputy Chief Radiographer until his current appointment.

Mr. Nunoo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Radiography from the School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Ghana, and a Master of Science degree in Trauma Science from Queen Mary University of London. His academic training underpins his extensive clinical and leadership experience in medical imaging and trauma-focused care areas, while passionate about Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Computed Tomography.

He has worked in various healthcare establishments, both private and government, drawing valuable experiences from both structures.

Mr. Nunoo began his professional career in 2009 as a Radiographer at Medical Imaging Ghana Limited. He transitioned to the premier hospital (Korle Bu Teaching Hospital- Radiology Department) in 2010, where he initially worked as a general Radiographer and finally as a Lead MR radiographer at the Advanced Imaging Center, Korle-Bu, performing advanced imaging procedures. His exploits were visible, which led him to be seconded to the University of Ghana Medical Centre in 2019 to help start the Imaging Department as Head of Radiography and Sonography, a position he occupied from 2019 to 2025, before his recent appointment as Director of Allied Health Services at UGMC. His leadership acumen is inspiring, and he remains a leading figure and mentor for the younger radiography generation.

Mr. George Nunoo’s professional and research interests encompass magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), interventional X-ray procedures, and trauma imaging. He is instrumental in providing technical expertise for the areas of Radiography across the various imaging modalities and has co-authored several publications with different health professionals.
