Dr (Pharm) Geraldine Adwoa Okyere is a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist with over 20 years of professional experience in hospital pharmacy practice, with specialised expertise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Pharmacy. She provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care for women and children, with a strong focus on medication safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based clinical pharmacy practice. 

She is passionate about strengthening healthcare systems through effective pharmacy leadership, improved patient care processes, antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacovigilance, and capacity building. Her work reflects a commitment to advancing safe and effective medication use while improving health outcomes for mothers and children.

Dr Okyere has over 20 years of experience in clinical pharmacy practice, with extensive expertise in hospital pharmacy administration and patient-centred pharmaceutical care. She has played key roles in supporting clinical teams through medication management, quality improvement initiatives, drug safety monitoring, and the development of effective pharmacy services. 

Her professional practice encompasses Women and Children Pharmacy, with a particular focus on Obstetrics and Gynaecology Pharmacy. She continues to contribute to healthcare improvement through clinical interventions, mentorship, training, operational leadership, and the promotion of safe and rational medicine use. 

 

Dr Okyere’s professional and research interests include health systems strengthening and quality improvement, social and behavioural pharmacy, mental health and health-seeking behaviour, maternal and child health pharmacotherapy, antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacovigilance, and drug safety. 

 

Dr Okyere possesses expertise in leadership and hospital pharmacy administration, supply chain management, clinical pharmacy practice, medication safety and quality improvement, pharmacovigilance, training and mentorship, capacity building, crisis management, operational resilience, and continuity of care. 

She demonstrates strong leadership capabilities and a commitment to strengthening pharmacy services through innovative approaches, effective healthcare management, and continuous improvement of patient care systems.
