Dr. (Pharm) Angela Opoku-Bona is a Clinical Pharmacist with expertise in nephrology pharmacy, medication therapy management, chronic disease management, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care. She is committed to optimizing medication use, improving patient outcomes, and promoting medication safety through evidence-based clinical practice. 

With extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient care settings, Dr. Opoku-Bona has been actively involved in medication therapy management, medication reconciliation, patient counseling, and multidisciplinary healthcare delivery. Her clinical practice focuses on supporting patients with chronic medical conditions, particularly chronic kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, and other complex disease states. She works collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure the safe, effective, and rational use of medicines. 

Dr. Opoku-Bona holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She has completed postgraduate training through the Ghana College of Pharmacists and has received specialized training in Medication Therapy Management (MTM), further strengthening her expertise in optimizing patient care and therapeutic outcomes.

Dr. Opoku-Bona has significant experience in providing pharmaceutical care across inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings. Her work encompasses clinical medication reviews, medication therapy optimization, patient education, medication reconciliation, and collaborative management of chronic diseases. She has played an active role in supporting multidisciplinary healthcare teams to improve treatment outcomes and enhance the quality of patient care. 

Her professional and research interests include chronic kidney disease management, clinical pharmacy practice, medication adherence and patient outcomes, pharmacist-led interventions in chronic disease care, rational use of medicines, pharmacovigilance and medication safety, and public health and preventive healthcare. She is particularly interested in advancing the role of pharmacists in improving long-term health outcomes for patients with chronic illnesses. 

Dr. Opoku-Bona possesses strong competencies in clinical medication review, drug therapy optimization, patient counseling and education, interprofessional collaboration, research and data analysis, healthcare quality improvement, leadership, team management, medical writing, and scientific communication. Her analytical and patient-centered approach supports the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care. 

She is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), the Pharmacy Council of Ghana, and the Lady Pharmacists Association of Ghana (LAPAG). Through these professional affiliations, she remains actively engaged in advancing pharmacy practice and professional development. 

Dr. Opoku-Bona is fluent in English and Twi and has basic proficiency in Ga and French.
