Profile
Dr. (Pharm) Charles Atiemo-Debrah is a Clinical Pharmacist with expertise in infectious diseases, medication therapy management, patient safety, and clinical pharmacy practice. He currently serves as the Head of Unit for the Surgery Pharmacy (Annex) at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), where he plays a key role in the delivery of patient-centered pharmaceutical care and the advancement of clinical pharmacy services.
Education
Dr. Atiemo-Debrah holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He completed specialist training in Clinical Pharmacy (Infectious Diseases) through the Ghana College of Pharmacists and is pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Trials at the University of Ghana. He has also undertaken professional training in Leadership and Management in Health and Fundamentals of Global Health Research through the University of Washington, USA.

Dr. Atiemo-Debrah has extensive experience in clinical pharmacy practice, healthcare education, and professional development. At UGMC, he has served in various leadership and clinical roles, including Head of Unit, Deputy Head of Unit, Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Exam Officer, Preceptor, and Continuous Professional Development Coordinator.
Beyond UGMC, he serves as a Facilitator and Faculty Member for Perioperative Nursing at the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives. He has also contributed to healthcare education as a part-time lecturer and continues to provide pharmaceutical services within community pharmacy practice.

Dr. Atiemo-Debrah's professional and research interests include infectious diseases, nephrology, pharmacovigilance and patient safety, perioperative pharmacology, implementation science, and clinical trials. He is particularly interested in advancing evidence-based healthcare practices and strengthening systems that improve medication safety and patient care outcomes.
