Dr. Nicholas Kumi holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He has received advanced clinical training in Critical Care Pharmacy through the Clinical Pharmacy Membership programme with the Ghana College of Pharmacists.
Work Experience
Dr. Nicholas Kumi is a Specialist Critical Care Pharmacist with experience spanning across clinical pharmacy practice, drug information services, pharmacovigilance, academia, and research. He has worked in several clinical areas to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care, reviewing and optimising complex medication regimens, while supporting antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, promoting medication safety, and contributing to pharmacovigilance activities. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the rational, safe, and effective use of medicines, particularly in high-acuity settings. He is actively engaged in pharmacy education and training, serving as a preceptor in Experiential Pharmacy Practice Training programmes, supporting pharmacy residency training, and contributing to research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance medication safety and patient outcomes.
