UGMC Pharmacist

Fouzia Salifu is a pharmacist with specialized training in Infectious Diseases and extensive experience in both hospital and community pharmacy practice. She is committed to delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care and supporting healthcare initiatives that improve patient outcomes and strengthen public health systems. Her professional experience spans clinical pharmacy, public health programming, and healthcare service delivery, enabling her to contribute effectively to multidisciplinary patient care. 

Fouzia holds a Membership in Infectious Diseases from the Ghana College of Pharmacists (MGCPharm), a Master of Science (MSc) in Public Health from the University of South Wales, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. 

Her primary area of expertise is Infectious Diseases Pharmacy, with a strong interest in the prevention, management, and control of infectious diseases through evidence-based pharmaceutical care and public health interventions. 

Fouzia has accumulated extensive experience in both hospital and community pharmacy practice. Throughout her career, she has been involved in providing patient-centered pharmaceutical care, supporting medication management, and contributing to healthcare programmes aimed at improving population health outcomes. 

Her professional and research interests include epidemiological trends and management strategies for malaria, sexual and reproductive health programming, and health policy development and implementation. She is passionate about advancing healthcare delivery through research, public health interventions, and evidence-based policy initiatives. 

Fouzia possesses strong competencies in strategic planning, team leadership, and cross-functional communication. She is experienced in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, coordinating healthcare initiatives, and contributing to the effective implementation of health programmes and services. 

She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Ghana College of Pharmacists (MGCPharm), the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH), the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association (CPA), the Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association of Ghana (GHOSPA), and the Lady Pharmacists Association of Ghana (LAPAG). 

Fouzia is professionally fluent in English and fluent in Sissala, Twi, and Hausa, enabling her to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.
