UGMC Specialist Radiologist

Dr. Barbara A. S Darbo is a dedicated Radiologist and accomplished medical professional with a strong foundation in medicine and specialized expertise in radiology. She is known for her commitment to excellence and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. She brings a thoughtful and results-driven approach to her work.

She received her secondary education at Holy Child School in Cape Coast, Ghana. She went on to pursue her medical education at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where she obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Human Biology, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB). She subsequently specialized in Radiology at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she developed strong expertise in diagnostic imaging.

Dr. Darbo has over a decades experience in medical practice in both private and public healthcare sectors, building a diverse and well-rounded clinical background. In 2022, she joined the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), and since 2025, she has been serving as a Specialist Radiologist. In this role, she provides expert imaging services and works closely with other specialists to deliver accurate diagnosis and effective patient management.Dr. Darbo is fluent in English and Twi. She has a strong interest in expanding her language abilities and is actively improving her proficiency in French, Spanish and Ga.

She remains committed to continuous professional development and to contributing meaningfully to healthcare delivery and improved patient outcomes.
