Dr. Abdul-Wahab began his academic journey at Tamale Senior High School and briefly attended the University of Ghana.

In 2010, he was awarded a fully funded international scholarship to study medicine in Venezuela, where he trained at the Universidad Nacional Experimental de los Llanos Centrales Rómulo Gallegos, completing a six-year medical program and graduating among the top of his class with summa cum laude distinction.
He subsequently obtained a Master’s degree in Emergency and Urgency Medicine from the Universidad Católica de Valencia San Vicente Mártir, Valencia, Spain, reflecting a strong academic and clinical interest in acute care.
He later completed specialist training in Radiology at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, earning dual specialist certification from:
- West African College of Surgeons (WACS)
- Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS)
He is distinguished for his exceptional performance in postgraduate training, having graduated as:
- Best graduating clinical Resident in Radiology – WACS (2024)
- Best Resident in Radiology – GCPS (2025) — a rare achievement that underscores outstanding academic excellence, diagnostic precision, and clinical competence.
Dr. Abdul-Wahab is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH), with a focus on stroke imaging and population health.
Work Experience
Dr. Abdul-Wahab returned to Ghana in 2017 and completed his housemanship at:
- 37 Military Hospital
- St. Anthony’s Hospital, Dzodze
- Princess Marie Louis Children’s Hospital
He subsequently worked as a Medical Officer in multiple institutions, including, Legon Hospital and FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital, where he developed a strong interest in trauma and acute care. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as one of the pioneer frontline physicians at the Ghana Infectious Disease Centre, contributing significantly to the management of critically ill patients. In 2020, he joined the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC). In 2021, he commenced residency training in Radiology at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where he demonstrated outstanding academic and clinical performance. He also undertook a six-month observership in Radiology (2024–2025) at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, gaining structured exposure to advanced imaging, subspecialty reporting, and multidisciplinary workflows within a high-volume academic environment. In 2025, he returned to UGMC as a Specialist Radiologist, contributing to advanced diagnostic imaging services.
