UGMC Senior Administrative Manager

Introduction 

Mr. Albert Nana Sarfo is a highly resourceful and ethical Senior Administrative Manager with over a decade of progressive experience spanning education, healthcare, and public sector operations. His career is defined by proven expertise in streamlining complex administrative processes and enhancing team efficiency within high-pressure environments such as the University of Ghana Medical Centre Ltd. (UGMC). As a self-motivated problem-solver, he is dedicated to achieving organizational objectives through ethical decision-making and collaborative leadership. 

Education 
Mr. Sarfo obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in 1999. He taught from 2001 to 2006 before enrolling at the University of Ghana, where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, graduating in 2010. 

He later pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Ghana Business School, earning a Master of Arts degree in Management and Administration in 2025. 

In addition to his formal degrees, Mr. Sarfo has acquired certificate courses in Health Services Management and Administration, Health Law, and Public Administration and Policy, all from Presbyterian University, Ghana. 

Work Experience 

Mr. Sarfo has gained extensive experience across education, healthcare, and public sector administration. He worked with the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority in administration and later with Metro Mass Transit at its headquarters in operations. He also served part-time with the Electoral Commission of Ghana in the Agona West District and Kpone-Katamanso Municipality. 

Additionally, he worked as a Marketing Officer for a roofing company in Tema and as an Officer in the Health Information/Biostatistics Department at the Swedru Government Hospital. He also spent several years in the teaching profession at First Star Academy, Community 12, Tema. 

Mr. Sarfo currently serves as the Senior Administrative Manager in the Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Ghana Medical Centre Ltd. (UGMC), where he leverages his extensive experience in administration and healthcare management to drive excellence in patient care, operational efficiency, and teamwork. 

Professional and Research Interests 

Mr. Sarfo's professional interests include optimizing hospital workflows and departmental efficiency through the effective use of PHIS, DHIMS, HealthPro, and database management systems to improve healthcare outcomes. He is also interested in supporting initiatives that promote evidence-based administrative policies.
