BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING MANAGER
(Analogous to Chief Administrative Manager on the Single Spine Pay Scale)
(JOB REF: BDMM/03.0524)
JOB PURPOSE
This role is aimed at developing and executing robust business and marketing strategies to drive sustainable financial growth in the three (3) sub-business units of the University of Ghana Medical Centre Ltd.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospect for potential/new clients and engage existing clients towards building a formidable clientele base by managing their needs/expectations.
- Develop growth strategies focused on both financial gains to the Centre and customer satisfaction.
- Set up meetings with clients, and decision-makers and contribute to the pricing strategy of the Centre.
- Lead the Business Development and Marketing team to develop proposals tailored towards client needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify new markets and customer needs.
- Promote UGMCs services to the international market with particular focus on the West African Sub-region.
- Serve as a product development expert in our specialized field, keeping technical and product knowledge updated through close interactions with all departments.
- Maintain keen interest in relevant markets and stay updated on detailed knowledge of economic, technical, and organizational information to capitalize on business opportunities.
- Examine risks and potentials for business opportunities.
- Protect UGMC’s values by keeping information confidential.
- Create strong social media presence and ensure easy access to up-to-date information about UGMC’s services and activities.
- Liaise with Directors of the Centre to develop marketing strategies for our services.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Educational Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of relevant Master’s Degree in Administration, Marketing, Business Development or other related field with at least a total of thirteen (13) years working experience five (5) years of which MUST be in a Relevant Managerial Position.
- Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development and training in marketing and business development.
- Experience in planning and implementing service developments.
- Experience in policy and standards development.
- Research experience.
- Experience in report writing
Desirable
- Membership of recognized professional management body e.g. CIMA
- A PhD in a relevant field.
- Experience of networking.
