Information and Communication
Technology Department
The Information Technology Department is charged with providing leadership and oversight in the development and implementation of diverse technology projects. As an integral part of the institution, We are charged to ensure that the ICT infrastructure of the centre is effectively deployed to help the centre attain its vision of being distinguished for world-class Healthcare, Training and Research.
Our responsibilities cover the following areas and not limited to:
- Application development – Corporate website, Payment Gateway Implementation, Health Information System (HealthPro) etc.
- Network contingencies – Implementation of a DR plan to ensure business continuity, augmenting network infrastructure for capacity planning.
- Cybersecurity – determine security vulnerabilities to mitigate risks etc.
- IP Telephony – Facilitate voice communication within the UGMC community and externally.
- Rendering Technical Support to end-users.
In a quaternary institution such as the UGMC, the ability to communicate, collaborate and automate routine task is key and the IT department is responsible for providing the infrastructure on which all business processes will thrive.
