OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT
The Dermatology Department at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) provides specialized care for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions affecting the skin, hair, and nails. The department offers comprehensive dermatological services for patients with a wide range of skin-related concerns, including common skin disorders, chronic dermatological diseases, infections, allergic conditions, and cosmetic dermatological needs.
Through a patient-centred approach and collaboration with other medical specialties, the department provides accurate diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and long-term management plans tailored to individual patient needs. The Dermatology Department is committed to improving skin health, promoting early detection of skin conditions, and enhancing patients’ quality of life through specialized clinical care, education, and preventive services.
