Profile

Mrs. Lucy B. Ofori-Ayeh, currently the Director of Operations at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), has responsibility for the general operations of the Medical Centre. She oversees the development, maintenance and running of a sound administrative set-up and leads in the development of medium/long-term plans for UGMC. She facilitates and coordinates the functions of specialized Directorates and Departments such as Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Client Services, Information Technology and Health Information as well as Procurement and Stores. She coordinates stakeholder relationships and external partnerships.  
 
Work Experience
 
Before joining UGMC, she was the Director of Academic Affairs at the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho where she oversaw student admissions, registration of courses, welfare of students, examinations as well as the graduation, maintenance of accurate student academic records and certification processes and procedures for students. She was in charge of human resources management of the staff in her directorate Prior to that, she was the Administrative Secretary of the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana and, also served as Administrator in various sections of the University of Ghana for 11years. In the course of her duty tour at the University of Ghana, Mrs. Ofori-Ayeh served as Secretary to various committees of the University. She was a key player in fostering project and research partnerships and collaborations between the units she worked with and external stakeholders. She was also responsible for the general administration, human resources and financial management of the various sections of the University that she worked at. Mrs. Ofori-Ayeh was also the Administrator of the Evidence 4 Action project and the Project Manager/ Snr. Assistant Registrar, Ethics and Research Management Project at the School of Public Health, University of Ghana. In addition, she served as the coordinator of the Association of Schools of Public Health in Africa (ASPHA) between 2011 and 2015. She was the Programmes and Initiatives Consultant at the Tromsø City Council (Refugee and Immigration Office) in Norway from 1998 to 2002.

She is highly proficient in the English, French, Norwegian and Akan languages.

Education
 
Mrs. Ofori-Ayeh, holds an M.Phil. degree in Public Policy and Administration obtained in 1997 and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in same from the University of Tromsø, Norway in 1993. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in French and English obtained from the University of Ghana in 1991.
