The Operations Department is responsible for coordinating and supporting the day-to-day administrative and operational activities of the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC). The Department works to ensure that systems, processes, and resources are effectively managed to support the delivery of high-quality healthcare services across the Centre.
The Department collaborates with clinical and non-clinical teams to facilitate the implementation of operational plans, policies, and procedures that promote efficiency, accountability, and service excellence. It supports resource planning and utilization, monitors operational performance, and helps to ensure that departmental activities are aligned with the strategic objectives of the Centre.
Key areas of focus include operational planning and coordination, performance monitoring, risk management, process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and the effective deployment of human, financial, and material resources. The Department also works closely with support units to maintain a safe, productive, and patient-centred environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
Through continuous improvement and collaboration, the Operations Department contributes to the smooth functioning of the Centre and supports UGMC's mission of delivering world-class healthcare, education, and research.
